El Camino de Miguel

Mon petit-fils Miguel est arrivé dans ma vie il y a bientôt 15 ans et m’a baptisée « Gros-Maman » dès qu’il a parlé. Il me dépasse maintenant en taille!

Il y a deux ans, Miguel et moi formulions le rêve de marcher ensemble sur le Camino (Chemin de Compostelle). C’est dans quelques jours que notre rêve va se réaliser!!! Nous avons commencé à nous préparer à l’automne 2018 en faisant des randonnées d’abord sur le Mont-Royal, puis au Parc du Domaine Vert, à l’Arboretum Morgan et au Parc national d’Oka. Nous nous sommes graduellement rendus jusqu’à 14 km.

Le grand départ approche à grands pas : nous nous envolons pour la France le 6 août pour nous déposer à Lyon et nous rendre à Puy-en-Velay. Notre randonnée commencera le matin du 9 août! Nous marcherons pendant 14 jours, une moyenne de 15 km par jour, pour nous rendre dans la jolie ville médiévale de Conques.

Miguel turned me into a grandma almost 15 years ago. He’s always been very special to me and has in the past year grown taller than me!!!

Miguel and I have been dreaming about a trip together for the past two years. Not just any trip. A walking trip: a trek on the Camino. And now our dream is coming true: we’re leaving in a few days!!! We’ve been preparing all year with day hikes on the Mount-Royal, Parc du Domaine Vert, the Morgan Arboretum and the OKA National Park. We’re up to 14 km!

On August 6 we fly off to France with our hiking boots and sticks. Landing at the Lyon airport we’ll make our way by train to Puy-en-Velay and rest for a day. On August 9 we start our 14 day trek (an average of 15 km a day), ending in the beautiful medieval village of Conques.
